I have volunteered here a few times and the people there are so nice and would politely point you in the direction you need. The animals are well cared for and the kennels and cages are cleaned plenty. The animals seem happy and the cats love to play!

This shelter has given me the life time of an experience. The staff is beyond friendly and so much more, the story of me and the dog I adopted ( Goose) is beyond unique now. He has filled the hole where I thought nothing could, I made multiple visits while waiting to adopt him hoping and praying he would be mine. The staff stayed in contact with me all throughout this process and made it thee most memorable experience I will ever have. Huge shoutout to them and I will always go to them if I ever need anything and will send my friends and family their way to adopt their forever fur babies. Thank you so much for being apart of mine and Gooses adventure.

Someone dumped 3 puppies near our neighbors small farm. She didn't know what to do, so of course she called us (and made it our business). It's getting really cold and while they were big puppies they were probably only 3 or 4 months old. They looked like they had Great Pyrenees in them. 2 black 1 white. The Old Drum Anima shelter said if we could catch them they had room for them we did and they took them in before 4 pm. Awesome!!! While there they asked how close we were to hwy H---2 miles. 2 other puppies had been brought to the shelter the day before😡. People need to stop dumping pets and puppies/kittens. The shelter is pretty full and most of us already have multiple pets. We can't afford to take care of any more. Ours are already rescues. The shelter does a great job!!!

I picked up Evie Galore, agent 009 from the Old Drum Animal shelter almost a month ago. First, I travelled some distance to meet Evie specifically and the staff (Molly in particular) helped keep me posted on Evie’s availability so I could ideally meet Evie. Now you can’t put a hold on a pet which makes sense because what happens then if a forever home is turned away and then you get there and realize it’s not the match you had hoped for…it’s not fair to the animal. I CANNOT say enough good things about my experience, all of which I attribute to the staff and their dedication to the animals. Evie is a bobtail Manx which was a quality I was super interested in, however it’s her personality and playfulness that melts my heart everyday and I am a first time Cat parent. I’ve had dogs up to this point in my life. Please consider adopting from this shelter. All shelters across the US are filling up with pandemic pets. Pets being abandoned now that humans go back to their busy lives. Evie gives the most awesome head butts and welcomes me when I come back to the apartment. She has to be in the same room I am ALL THE TIME. Our match is a perfect one and the staff at Old Drum certainly made that easy. Thanks to the staff for a match that could NOT have been any less ideal.

If your looking for somewhere to boost your moral this is the place to go. All of their animals are so well taken care of and they let you take the dogs for walks and you can go into the cat room and hold their cats. They did a 50% off pets deal on st Patrick's day and I went in and was adopted by their lovely wandering cat "Spazzy Cat" who I lovingly renamed Donut and we are absolutely inseparable. Old drum workers also went out of their way to get me a kennel, food bowls, litter tray, litter scoop, food, litter, placemats, countless of his favorite toys and fether wand. He is my everything and I am so greatful for them to bring us together.

This shelter euthanized animals for being there for an extended period of time. Good animals who are loving and Have nothing wrong with them. This shelter also fixes there animals at 3 months old which is far too premature and this breaks my heart. Please let’s help our animals!!

This place is amazing and I got all of my dogs from here but some of the staff or volunteers were rude. However, the manager is excellent and such a great person. They do great work and provide the dogs to good homes. The most recent dog I got from here is a Husky and his name is Turbo. He is doing really good.
